(Conference for Aquatic Management Professionals)


New for 2027!  Training CAMP will combine highlights of our flagship CAMP conference with the SGE Instructor Development Course (IDC) into a four day, action packed event!


March 1-5, 2027

Hosted at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, Texas and will include benchmarking opportunities and activities around the City of Austin.

WHAT IS TRAINING CAMP?

About the Conference

Join top aquatic management professionals from different aquatic facilities and organizations across the industry for a full week of training and professional development.


Training CAMP will be an entirely new event that combines highlights of our CAMP conference with our Instructor Development Course (IDC) into a four day, action packed event!


With a key focus on training, safety trends, and emergency response, Training CAMP will feature experiential sessions with the SGE Medical Directors, aquatic safety experts,  deep dives into emergency response,  industry roundtables, special site visits, and more. 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

TRAINING CAMP REGISTRATION FEES:
  • Register by December 4, 2026
    • $850 per attendee
  • Register between December 5, 2026 and January 15, 2027
    • $1,000 per attendee
  • Register after January 16, 2027
    • $1,250 per attendee
  • Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis.  
  • Training CAMP capacity will be limited for the first year and WILL sell out. 


REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
  • Conference Admission
  • Lunch Daily (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Monday Evening Kick-Off Reception
  • Thursday Evening Dinner
  • Local Transportation
    • Shuttles to/from training facilities and local tours 
  • An awesome swag bag!

ACCOMMODATIONS:
  • Accommodations are available at Kalahari Resort for single or double occupancy.
    • Must be booked and paid through SGE.
    • Includes 4 nights of accommodations
    • Check-In on Monday (3/1/27) and Check-out Friday (3/5/27) 
  • Fees:
    • Single Occupancy: $1,150 total (room, taxes, and fees)
    • Double Occupancy: $1,350 total (room, taxes, and fees) 

IDC FEES:
  • Instructor certification fees will be billed per each client's billing agreement.


CAMP CONTRACTS:
  • Any clients who have CAMP included as part of their annual contract can choose to attend Training CAMP using their contract allotment.
  • The contract will include registration, accommodation, and any IDC related fees.
  • Space is limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis.


ADDITIONAL NOTES & FINE PRINT:
  • Change Fee: Any changes for attendees will be charged a $100 service fee.
  • Cancellations cannot be made after January 15, 2027 without forfeiting fees.

Dr. Justin Sempsrott

Dr. Sempsrott is full-time emergency medicine doctor and serves as Medical Director for StarGuard ELITE and the International Surf Lifesaving Association. Dr. Sempsrott is also a founding member of both the non-profit Lifeguards Without Borders and the International Drowning Researchers Alliance.  

Dr. Sempsrott began his career as a surf lifesaver in Jacksonville Beach, Florida prior to attending medical school to become a physician. Dr. Sempsrott is one of the world's leading experts on drowning and aquatic lifesaving.

Dr. Seth Hawkins

Dr. Hawkins is an emergency medicine doctor, writer, anthropologist, and organizational innovator. For over 10 years Dr. Hawkins has served as a Medical Director for both StarGuard ELITE and Starfish Aquatics Institute.  

Dr. Hawkins has made notable contributions to the fields of wilderness medicine, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and medical humanities.  For SGE, Dr. Hawkins has been instrumental for adapting the most current science for spinal injury care and prevention of drowning-related injuries.

Training CAMP will have a series of special guests, panelists and contributors to a wide variety of presentations, roundtables, and activities.

Kalahari Resort

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Round Rock, Texas, is a massive resort featuring one of the America's largest indoor waterparks, plus a major outdoor aquatic operation as well. Opened in 2020, the resort includes a 223,000-square-foot indoor waterpark with 975 guest rooms, diverse dining, a family entertainment center, and much more.  Learn more about the resort below!

City of Austin - Parks & Recreation

The City of Austin's Aquatic Division operates 45 public aquatic facilities, which includes 7 Regional pools, 3 Community pools, 22 Neighborhood pools, 1 Wading pool, the historic Barton Springs Pool and 11 splash pads. Austin's aquatic operation is one of the most diverse and complex of any major city in the United States.

Life Time 

The Life Time aquatics centers in Austin operate as premium, resort-style aquatic clubs. Featuring year-round indoor lap pools and seasonal outdoor "Beach Club" oases, Life Time operates dynamic venues across the United States.  For Training CAMP, some Life Time venues will be used to host training sessions for the Lifeguard Instructor portions.
