Through our Instructor Development Courses ("train-the-trainer"), we train Lifeguard Instructors to conduct internal courses and issue certifications for Lifeguards, Surf Guides, First Responders (CPR & First Aid), Supervisors, and other key members of your operation. 

Training programs include: 

• Proprietary Surf Park Training - Specialized curriculum paired with surf park operational best practices to deliver realistic, efficient, and effective surf park safety 
• Evidence-Based Curriculum - Training built around the industry's most evidence-based protocols and adult learner activities that foster practical skills and retention.
• Internationally Recognized Certifications - In partnership with Health & Safety Institute (HSI, formerly ASHI), programs incorporate water rescues, spinals, CPR, AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Emergency Oxygen training, and more.

Surf Park Safety Program (SPS)

The StarGuard SURF Park Safety Program is a tailored, comprehensive, objective-based training and operational risk prevention program. The program includes the following services:

• Establishment as a StarGuard and Health & Safety Institute (HSI) Training Center.
• Certification and licensing services for Lifeguards, Surf Guides, Attraction Attendants, Instructors, Supervisors, Advanced First Aid, and more.
• Access to the proprietary SGE Portal to manage training and operations data in a single system.
• Innovative audit program for both internal and external audits.
• On-site visits for audits, training, and staff development.
• Registration for SGE’s Conference for Aquatic Management Professionals (CAMP).

Aquatic Safety Audits & Operational Reviews

StarGuard SURF provides both on-site, unannounced audits, and scheduled operational reviews. Each is objective based, with clear scoring methodologies that help facilities evolve their operational safety for both guests and staff. 

Audit services include:

• Observations of Lifeguards, Surf Guides, Attraction Attendants (if applicable), and on-deck Supervisors 
• Skills & scenarios testing
• Facility operational safety review
• Operational documentation review

Audits and reviews are conducted by experienced industry professionals who bring an objective-driven mindset with focus on mentoring clients to exceed safety standards. Reports are digital and reviewable through our secure SGE Portal, which features an internal audit program. This one-of-a-kind program offers access to the same features, criteria, and scoring methodology that is applied by the StarGuard Surf team.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance Consulting

From initial concept to established operation, StarGuard SURF provides unmatched safety and operational expertise to assist any project.  Our team's extensive operational experience and expertise uniquely positions us for a wide variety of advisory services. Examples include:

• Conceptual design and plan reviews.
• Staffing recommendations and positioning of lifeguards, attendants, and on-deck supervision.
